CloudCannon - How to transfer a site + domain process

#CloudCannon Documentation: How to transfer a site + domain process

In Cloud Cannon the site needs to be moved out of For Purpose Organisation into the Clients own organisation. Ideally this should be completes a few days before going live, so that user permissions are enabled to update al content , links, file uploads etc .

Go to Partner dashboard

"+ New client" button from the Partner dashboard

entering the "Client organization name"

Clicking "Change plan ->" and selecting "Lite Plan"

clicking "Create client organization" button

Add FP Credit card to payment plan if requested

Go back to For Purpose Sites

Select client site

Click “Site Settings”

Click “Transfer Site” (in Danger Zone at bottom left)

Select “Organization to receive” from Dropdown (client organisation name from above)

Select ‘Send Transfer request” and “Confirm”

Go to Partner dashboard

Select Client Organisation and new site and Accept Transfer request and confirm.

Check for sync issues

After transferring site:

In "Site Settings" > "Files" > "Source Syncing" Clicking the option to "Reset origin/main branch" - which took me to GitHub to re-verify CloudCannon for the repository, and then was able to sync.

Custom domain process

Custom domain added to cloudcannon.

Then make sure nameservers are updated in external dns provider.

DNS records to be managed by cloudcannon (this gives us free ssl certificate)

Need to add txt records in cloudcannon domain settings page

Check that www subdomain is pointing to root

Bandwidth/Build issues?

Potentially a 1 month window where we need bigger plan for uploading images/pdfs

Devs to doublecheck that all components have image optimization functionality

Keep an eye on bandwidth build issues on this site and others going forward
