Custom Field or Tag
This is in regards to the recurring question when we build out a NationBuilder site and are trying to decide if we use Custom Fields or User Tags to store data.
#Custom Fields
- Come at a cost (batches of 5?)
- Easier to report on (via People export - can pick as columns)
User Tags
- Come at no cost
- Harder to report on
- Tend to "clutter" the user record
- More easily prone to accidentally changing (via deleting tag)
- More easily prone to mis-configure (if someone tries adding a tag via the NB control panel)
