Generating Image Tiles

Image tiles are used by the layout:download-tiles layout. Create one PNG tile for each downloadable resource, then add it as the resource page's meta image in NationBuilder.

#Create the image tile in Canva

Use the Canva image tile file to create the tile.

  1. Open the Canva file and upload the image or PDF you want to use.
  2. Add the uploaded content to the Canva page.
  3. Select the elements that make up the tile and choose Group.
  4. Set the grouped element's Width to 900 px. Keep the proportions locked so the content is not distorted.
  5. Use Position to align the group Center horizontally and Middle vertically.
  6. Select File → Download, choose PNG as the file type, and download the image.

Add the tile to NationBuilder

The PNG tile is used as the tile image through the child page's meta image. It is not the downloadable file itself.

  1. Open the child Basic Page for the resource in NationBuilder.
  2. Open Settings → Social media.
  3. Upload the exported PNG as the Thumbnail image for Facebook, etc. (the page's meta image).
  4. Save the page.
  5. Upload the image or PDF that visitors should download as the child page's file attachment. Keep the downloadable attachment separate from the meta image.

The parent Basic Page must have the layout:download-tiles tag. The layout uses each published child page's meta image for its tile and the child page attachment for the download.
