Petitions
Petitions can use default NationBuilder settings - but we also have a couple custom petitions as described below.
#Custom layout tags
These page tags load custom petition layouts:
layout:safe-staffingloads the Safe Staffing petition layout.layout:plunketloads the Plunket petition layout.layout:te-whatu-oraloads the Te Whatu Ora petition layout.
Safe Staffing layout
Add the page tag layout:safe-staffing to a petition using the standard layout.
The Safe Staffing layout:
- Labels the petition message field Your message to Minister of Health Simeon Brown and Te Whatu Ora Chief Executive Dale Bramley.
- Makes the message field required.
- Shows Recent comments only when the activity stream contains at least one petition signature with a message.
- Shows Latest supporters only when at least one recent supporter has a name. Supporters without a name are not listed.
NationBuilder settings
The page tag does not enable NationBuilder's commenting or activity stream settings. Commenting must be enabled for the message field to appear, and the activity stream must be enabled for the comments feed to appear.
Plunket layout
Add the page tag layout:plunket to use the custom Open Letter Plunket layout. It:
- Places the first featured image above a two-column layout containing the petition text and signing form.
- Requires the signer to select I am signing as and Region, as well as enter their first name, last name, and email address. Mobile phone is optional when enabled.
- Shows a custom count of Plunket employee signatures.
- Lists recent signers with their full name, region when supplied, and signing time, followed by the number of other signatures.
- Supports page tags for adding externally collected signatures to the Plunket employee and overall signature counts.
See Open Letter Plunket for the custom-field options, counter configuration, adjustment tags, and NationBuilder setup.
Te Whatu Ora layout
Add the page tag layout:te-whatu-ora to use the custom Te Whatu Ora layout. It:
- Places the first featured image above a two-column layout containing the petition text, recent signers, and signing form.
- Requires first name, last name, workplace, and email address. Mobile phone is optional when enabled.
- Stores Workplace in the
nzno_member_worksitecustom field. - Lists recent signers with their first name, workplace when supplied, and signing time, followed by the number of other signatures.
See Te Whatu Ora - Holidays Act Remediation Invoice for layout configuration, signer data, and export instructions.
Fair Pay and Safe Staffing petition
The petition with the page slug fair_pay_and_safe_staffing_petition gets additional styling in the standard petition layout: its feature image is 100px high, the signing panel has a pink top border, and a Stand Together for Health blog module with up to five posts appears above the petition content. This behavior is triggered by the page slug; it does not need a page tag.
