Image Gallery
Tag: module:image-gallery
The gallery displays images that visitors can open in a larger view. The module page supplies the introduction; its children supply the individual images.
- Add
module:image-galleryto a Basic page. - Use that page's Headline and Content for the gallery introduction.
- Add one Basic child page per image. Blog Post children are also supported.
- On each item, upload an image and set the Headline to a meaningful image title/description.
- Add an optional caption in the item's Content. Excerpt is used if Content is empty.
- Reorder the items beneath the gallery, save and test both thumbnails and the enlarged view.
The first image found among the item's attachments is used. If none is found, the item's Social media image is tried. Items without an image are omitted. The item heading also supplies the image's alternative text.
Use columns:2, columns:3 or columns:4 for a desktop column choice. Without a column tag the gallery adapts to its number of images, up to four columns. Smaller screens use fewer columns.
Shared styles and spacing apply; default spacing is large. The gallery checks access restrictions on itself and on its items, and leaves inaccessible items out. Follow Access and search visibility for the broader restriction rules.
A gallery can also be a standalone Basic page. If it is the parent of a subpage_layout page, its children are gallery items rather than extra independent sections. Avoid putting unrelated landing-page modules beneath that gallery parent.
