Footer and Announcement
#Announcement bar
The announcement bar appears above the header on every standard page. The theme uses the most recent published page tagged module_announcement_bar.
Data mapping
| Visible element | NationBuilder field |
|---|---|
| Main message | Page headline |
| Link label | Page excerpt; falls back to “Read more” |
| Link destination | Basic page content, entered as a URL or root-relative path only |
The current source page is site_announcement_bar (edit page 5439).
To remove the announcement temporarily, unpublish or remove module_announcement_bar from the source page. If several published pages have the tag, only the most recently published is used.
External URLs and mailto: links open in a new tab. Internal paths such as /news stay in the same tab.
Footer
Footer logo
The footer looks through the homepage attachments and uses the first attachment whose filename contains footer. The current convention is a descriptive filename such as footer-logo-color.png.
If no matching homepage attachment exists, the site Meta image is used. Keep only one intended footer file with footer in its filename so the result is predictable.
Footer links and content
The right-hand footer links are the NationBuilder site's Footer content. They are entered in the WYSIWYG editor and are not generated from top nav, so navigation changes may also require a footer update.
Social links
Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn URLs are currently configured in the theme. YouTube, TikTok and X are supported by the template but disabled because their URLs are blank. Ask For Purpose to change these links; they are not controlled by a NationBuilder page.
The final footer row contains the sign-in/sign-out link, For Purpose credit and required NationBuilder attribution.
